What is the meaning of “Walnut Hills”? Is it geography? Buildings? Activities? The people?
At our first On-the-road meeting this season, we will look back at Walnut Hills neighborhood planning during the late 20th century. The plans from this period reveal some common concerns that are still with us, as well as some achievements that enrich our neighborhood today. While the Historical Society team will delve into the older plans, we will be joined by Samantha Reeves, director of real estate and economic development at the Walnut Hills Redevelopment Foundation, who will talk about the process leading to the current plan (2016).
Are you a neighbor who participated in creating any of these plans? We hope to see you there to share your stories! Are you a new resident of the neighborhood? We hope you will attend as well!
Join us Wednesday, Sept. 18, 6:30-8:00 PM, at the Charles E. Dillard Center, 791 E. McMillan, Cincinnati, OH 45206 (Parking in lot to west of building). Refreshments provided. Event is free and open to the public, though donations are welcomed.
