Noble County Historical Society is proud to announce the upcoming dedication of the Historic Marker at the Ball-Caldwell Homestead on Thursday, June 2, 2016.
The program will start at 6:30 pm with Presentation of Flag by the Boy Scout Troop 501 and the singing of the National Anthem by Jeannette Feldner.
Remarks will be made by representatives from Ohio History Connection, as well as Caldwell Mayor Jon Bates and Noble County Commissioner Gary Rossiter. Tours of the home will be offered following the dedication ceremony.
At 7:30 will be a Square Dance in “The Barn” by the Buckeye Travelers Band.
Everyone is invited to join us for this celebration of The Caldwell family who built the house in 1832. They later donated land to the Village of Caldwell to become the county seat of Noble County. In 1920 the Ball name was the second family name on the deed. Later Robert & Mary Ann purchased the home to restore the structure and furnish it with articles of the period (1900) and of places around Noble County; they also placed it on the National Historic Register. In 2009, The Noble County Historical Society purchased the homestead for a museum and various events and community activities.
