Dreanna Belden from UNT Libraries’ Portal to Texas History will discuss resources for identifying potential funders, as well as strategies and best practices for approaching those funders. Learn how to craft your application for the greatest impact with concrete examples for a strong narrative that will connect with donors.
Dreanna Belden, Assistant Dean for External Relations, has been with the UNT Libraries since 2003. Her interests involve working with museums, libraries, genealogy societies and archives to place historic and cultural materials online. She’s presented nationally and internationally about user studies for digital libraries, including at Library of Congress. Dreanna recently completed a National Endowment for the Humanities Challenge Grant to raise matching funds for the Cathy Nelson Hartman Portal to Texas History Endowment. She’s served on the Council of the Texas Association of Museums, 2011-19, and is a Past-President. She serves on the board of the Collaborative for Children which promotes early learning and long-term success for at-risk youth. She’s a member of the Advisory Boards for the Texas House Oral History Project, PBS’s Texas Our Texas programming initiative, and for KERA/KXT, Public Media for North Texas.
