Interested in exploring and preserving stories of the past then this oral history workshop might be for you!! This workshop is intended for beginners and people new to practicing oral history. The workshop will feature 4 sections aimed at educating participants in oral history basics, best practices and starting an oral history project. There will also be an interviewing activity so participants can learn interviewing methods and techniques and gain practical experience performing interviews themselves. There will be an equipment recommendation and Q/A section at the end of the workshop.
The workshop will take place in the Shawnee State University Center for Public History in the Clark Memorial Library’s Basement on April 16th from 1-4pm. This is a free workshop with no registration required. Participants are free to take notes but will need to bring their own writing utensils or laptops.
