Love local history? Meet hundreds of others who do too, at this annual gathering of Ohioans active in historical societies, museums, and related organizations throughout the state.
This year’s Ohio Local History Alliance Annual Meeting and Conference – Inspire or Expire: How to Remain Relevant in the 21st Century will be held on Friday, October 5 and Saturday, October 6 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, Worthington. Networking opportunities will abound, and the conference offers over thirty skill-building sessions on topics including the Underground Railroad, oral history, fundraising, and volunteerism.
Friday’s luncheon keynote speaker is Dan Schilling, author of Civic Tourism: The Poetry and Politics of Place. Friday evening’s reception includes a living history performance and tour of the Grand Lodge of Ohio Masonic Museum in Worthington. Saturday’s luncheon honors winners of the Alliance’s Outstanding Achievement Awards.
