Ohio Humanities Grant Workshop – Ashtabula County

On Friday, January 27, 2017, The Ashtabula Foundation and Ohio Humanities will co-host a project planning and grant writing workshop. The workshop is free and open to staff members and volunteers of Ashtabula County nonprofits. The workshop will be held at the Ashtabula County District Library, 335 West 44th Street, Ashtabula, Ohio, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Ohio Humanities is the Ohio-based partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities and supports cultural programming with grants between $1,000 and $20,000. Attendees of the January workshop may also be eligible for funding from The Ashtabula Foundation.

• offer insight and renewed inspiration to face the challenges of our increasingly complex world.

Applicants should come prepared with a project idea or subject they would like to develop during the three-hour workshop. Ohio Humanities Program Officer Robert Colby and Assistant Director David Merkowitz will present examples of successfully funded projects, and help applicants describe project activities that link to relevant outcomes. The workshop will conclude with an overview of Ohio Humanities’ grants application process. Participants can expect to end the workshop with a viable project concept on which to base an Ohio Humanities grant application.

Who should attend: Staff members or volunteers of Ashtabula County nonprofits (including libraries, arts/cultural/historical organizations, tourism organizations, etc.) who will be able to formulate and execute a project on behalf of their organization. No more than two attendees from any one organization, please.
