As part of DPLA (Digital Public Library of America) Ohio, a free one-day training is being offered at the State Library on April 28th from 9 AM-3 PM.
DPLA Ohio is a group of digitization professionals whose goal is to create a portal for cultural heritage institutions of all sizes to submit objects to DPLA allowing for items to be searchable in one location. To prepare for this, DPLA Ohio aims to provide cultural heritage institutions with training and resources to have their holdings digitized. This free workshop is now open to all Ohio organizations.
Topics to be discussed include: in-house digitization v. outsourcing, selecting materials, equipment needs, metadata requirements, copyright, preservation, project management practices, and grant opportunities.
