Nonie Tompkins is Vice President of Underwriting at Distinguished Fine Art & Collectibles, a specialty insurance provider well-versed in the challenges faced by museums in exhibiting, conserving, handling, and shipping priceless objects. Nonie’s passion for fine art and collectibles insurance has defined her career. Her six years of fine art underwriting experience spans roles at two major carriers prior to joining Distinguished. Nonie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Art History from the University of Michigan and a Master’s in Museum Studies from Johns Hopkins University.
Joy Simpson is Executive Vice President of Business Insurance at Higginbotham specializing in fine arts, museums, and non-profits. Joy has been with Higginbotham since 2007 working in various roles within Property & Casualty. Joy is actively involved with the Texas Association of Museums and consults regularly with member museums on their insurance programs and risk management efforts. She volunteers time at a local museum, Houston Center for Photography, and serves on their board as Vice President. Joy graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2013 with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts and from Texas Woman’s University in 2017 with a Masters of Fine Arts. She earned her Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation in 2011 and her Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designation in 2022.
