OHC Building Doctors (Grandview Heights)

The Ohio History Connection’s old-building experts, the Building Doctors, are coming to Grandview Heights, October 1-2. The Building Doctor Clinic is cosponsored by Grandview Heights-Marble Cliff Historical Society.

The clinic includes an evening seminar on care and maintenance of older buildings, followed the next day by “house call” on-site consultations to examine old-building problems and prescribe cures.

Evening Seminar: Tuesday., October 1, 2024, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., Grandview Heights High School Auditorium, 1587 W. 3rd Avenue, Grandview Heights
Our seminar will help you solve common old-building problems. The Building Doctors are experts on old-building maintenance and repairs. They also know a thing or two about how to update an old building, while preserving its historic character. If you own an older home or building or are responsible for maintenance of one, don’t miss the seminar. It addresses ways to solve common problems like peeling paint or flaking plaster, wet basements, deteriorating masonry, windows that won’t stay open and other old-building eccentricities.

“House Call” Consultations: Wednesday, October 2, 9 a.m.– 1 p.m.
Have an old-building problem that you aren’t sure how to solve? Ask for house call from a Building Doctor. On Wednesday, October 2, the Ohio History Connection’s Building Doctors will visit buildings by appointment to examine problems and prescribe cures.

Visit requirements:

• You must attend the seminar on Tuesday evening to qualify for a consultation on Wednesday.
• The building must be within five miles of the center of Grandview Heights or Marble Cliff.

House call visits are limited to 10 sites and are on a first come-first served basis, so register today! If your building is scheduled for a visit, the local cosponsor will contact you the week of your clinic to set up an appointment. (We maintain a wait list in case of cancellations.).
