The Ohio History Connection’s Archives & Library, the Franklin County Genealogical and Historical Society (FCGHS), and the Columbus Metropolitan Library (CML) jointly offer a series of workshops designed to help family history researchers find out about the many records and resources available for research.
The workshops offer an in-depth review of methods, tools, and sources for exploring your family’s history. We offer in-person workshops, hands-on technology topics, and webinar presentations. See individual workshop descriptions for location, date, and time.
Known as the Great Migration, the lack of opportunities in the South led many African American families to settle in Northern cities across the country, including in Columbus. Gayle Dowdell Wilson of the African American Interest Group will give us a closer look at the Great Migration in Ohio and examine why millions chose to leave the South and others remained. We’ll discover the struggles and triumphs of these new arrivals settling in the capital city.
$20/Adult; $15/Ohio History Connection/FCGHS member.
Advance registration recommended.
