Nominations Now Being Accepted for 2013 Outstanding Achievement Awards
The Ohio Local History Alliance is now accepting nominations for its 2013 Outstanding Achievement Awards. Since 1960, the Ohio Local History Alliance, in partnership with the Ohio Historical Society, has led the state in recognizing excellent projects, programs, and publications produced by Ohio’s historical societies, museums, and related organizations, as well as the individuals who make them happen. Submit your nomination so others can be inspired by your achievements.
Nominations are accepted in two categories: Individual Achievement Awards and History Outreach Awards. Individual Achievement Awards recognize people who have made outstanding contributions to Ohio’s historical societies or history museums, or to the understanding and appreciation of state and local history. History Outreach Awards recognize outstanding projects that have educational content, that have contributed to the promotion and understanding of local and state history, and that have had an impact on the community – in other words, projects that inspired, connected, and educated their audiences about local history. Nominations are accepted for projects in three categories: Public Programming like school programs, workshops, tours, and lectures; Media and Publications like books, brochures, websites, newsletters, calendars, and posters; and, Exhibits/Displays.
Nominations must be postmarked by August 1, 2013. Awards will be presented at the Alliance’ Annual Meeting on Saturday, October 5, 2013.
