About the Alliance
The Ohio Local History Alliance works to advance the field of local history in Ohio through education, advocacy, and collaboration. We represent over 300 member organizations ranging from small neighborhood historical societies to large history museums. The Alliance leverages our individual and collective resources to help all of these organizations improve their relevance and achieve excellence.
The Ohio Local History Alliance works closely with the Ohio History Connection. Both organizations share a common goal to encourage the preservation and the presentation of Ohio’s heritage. The staff of OHC Local History Services administers and coordinates all Alliance programs. The Alliance, through its twenty-three person board of trustees, provides direction and oversight for those programs. The Alliance board also serves as the nucleus of a network of organizations and individuals interested in all aspects of community history in Ohio.
