Online Fundraising: Two Case Studies (OMA Webinar)

February 8, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

$10 – $15

With COVID protocols complicating logistics and limiting in-person options for holding traditional fundraisers and galas, many museums are focusing on shifting their fundraising events online.

Join us February 8 to hear from two museums that pivoted traditional in-person fundraisers to highly successful virtual events. Traci Buckner from the Akron Children’s Museum will speak about the museum’s Grown Up Play Date, and Kelli Kling and Marissa Muniz from the Wood County Museum will explore their 2020 Virtual Gala.

Hear about the systems and programs used, lessons learned, what they would change for future events, and the events’ biggest success stories. Attendees will come away with scalable ideas they can use for their own organization’s future events.

About our speakers:A distinguished educational leader and author, Traci Buckner is executive director at Akron Children’s Museum, a vibrant, interactive children’s play space located in the heart of downtown Akron.  Buckner joined Akron Children’s Museum after 18 years of service in the Akron Public School system, where she served as the founding instructional leader of the National Inventors Hall of Fame School…Center for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Learning and as the Director of Specialty Programs.

Kelli King is the Director of the Wood County Museum, having also served as the Marketing & Events Coordinator since 2003. She has a Bachelor of Science in Communications and a Master of Technology Education, both from Bowling Green State University.

Marissa Muniz is the Marketing & Events Coordinator for the Wood County Museum. She joined the Wood County Museum team in 2018. In her role, she is directly responsible for creating and implementing the general promotion of the museum and overseeing all museum events. Marissa also specializes in social media marketing.
