George Washington Williams was a Civil War veteran, minister, politician, and historian. He was the first African-American elected to the Ohio legislature and he authored “History of the Negro Race in America from 1619 to 1880.”

In this program, Anthony Gibbs, a member of the educational storytellers known as “We’ve Known Rivers,” will introduce you to George Washington Williams and his amazing life.
