First Light Night – 172 Years of Ohio Astronomy

April 14, 2017 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

First Light is a significant event for astronomers, being the first time they view through their new telescope. For our founder, O.M. Mitchel, that was April 14, 1845.
Explore the fascinating story of the people; O.M. Mitchel, Nicholas Longworth and John Quincy Adams, who made Cincinnati the “Birthplace of American Astronomy”.
Tours, astronomy Q&A and viewing through Mitchel’s telescope-largest in the Nation when first installed (viewing weather permitting).
No reservations needed. All ages welcome.
$5 per person. Free for Observatory & OHC Members.
