Type of resource:

If you have limited resources for professional development, take charge and curate your own list of online resources for specific topics in your field. Since I focus on marketing and public relations I’ve found a few great resources for industry information:

CreativeOverflow
http://creativeoverflow.netcreativeoverflow

This is an online design magazine that provides articles, resources, tutorials and inspiration.

prtini

Prtini is a great resource for public relations, social media and event marketing. The author provides articles and lists of links each week to other resources in the media industry.

The Publicity Hound

The author works with many nonprofits and businesses to help with publicity in print, broadcast and online. Sign up to get tips each week via email and read the vast archive of articles.

This is just the tip of the blog/website iceberg. Consider using a reader app like Feedly to keep up with new content on sites you follow. Spending a little time each day reading about the industry at large will keep you inspired to do good work for your organization.

What tools do you use to manage your organization’s publicity? Please share in the comments section below.
